Are you prepped this showing season?

Showing season is such an exciting time for us equestrians. No matter the riding level, no matter the class.. there will be nerves, there will be excitement but most of all there will be lots of fun and ribbons to be had! With all eyes on you in the ring, you want you and your horse to look and feel your best.

Be prepared this showing season with our all time showing prep must haves...

  1. Trim it up - grab those scissors, thin out that mane, neaten up that tail and snip off those stray hairs!
  2. Make that tack shimmer and shine - polish up your tack with some leather cleaner and shine. Get right into the nitty gritty and make sure it is polished to perfection, don't forget to polish your bridles.
  3. Check those saddle pads - pop them in the wash, and make sure to check they fit correctly before the day of the show so you have time to grab one if it doesn't. Check how to fit your saddle pad HERE.
  4. Pack that bag - have you got your treats? How about make up.. your horses (not yours)? Wipes? Spare gloves? Bib? Stocks? Whip? Spare plaiting bands? See, these checklists come in handy.
  5. Get that coat shining - coat spray is THE perfect finishing touch. As well as maintaining your horses health and nutrition, a coat spray can really make your horses coat, SHINE!
  6. Plaiting time - braid up that mane and tail well before the show begins, so your aren't Stressy Bessy when your class is coming.
  7. Shiny stirrups - as well as a shiny coat, judges love a shiny pair... of stirrups that is. Scrub off that rust and scrub in that sparkle.
  8. Feed and water - prep this up the night before (if you can). It takes the edge of stress off, trust us.
  9. Hoof oil - that is all. Hoof. Oil.
